How to Experience the Atlantic Coast Like Never Before
In this weeks Guest Posting, we learn how to experience the Atlantic Coast of the United States like never before.
One of the great features of the Atlantic coast is the vast variety of experiences available to you all along the coast – each one different and unique. You can hike through the mountains, lounge on the beach or trek through the Everglades. It doesn’t disappoint in what it has to offer, and that also includes great food, people and the possibility to explore some of the oldest parts of our country.
So where should you begin to discover this beautiful coast? Here are a few ideas to get you started.
Start by exploring one area.
Maybe you find the idea of the entire coast a bit too intimidating to tackle all at once. That’s okay. You can also choose one region and explore that way. Make it an annual event, and choose a new region each vacation. Fair warning: your list is going to be long and wonderful, so be prepared for many holidays to come!
Go for a retreat in the mountains.
Or maybe you just want to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. If that’s your goal, consider the Everglades National Park or the Assateague Island National Seashore. There’s the coastline, hunting, kayaking, horseback riding – just about anything and everything for you to disconnect and get away from it all.
Plan the most epic of all road trips.
Perhaps you’re the more all-in-one adventurous type, and you have some time that you can dedicate to an Atlantic coastal tour. You’re in for a real treat. You’ll witness first-hand just how diverse and amazing this part of the US is, and also have the opportunity to get a taste of just about every kind of adventure all at once.
Start your road trip down the coast by camping at the Everglades National Park, and make your way down the coast stopping NYC, DC and topping it off with the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to get the most out of this road trip.
Discover the historic East Coast.
Perhaps you’re a history buff, and one the most attractive parts of the Atlantic Coast is the fact that it houses the oldest parts of the nation. When you’re mapping out your destinations, you’ll want to include – from Boston to Philly and on down into the southern states, where you’ll find Jamestown and Charleston.
Discovering the origins of the country will be both educational and entertaining, and most likely you’ll want to keep exploring the history of the country on future trips.
Enjoy time on the Cape.
A popular destination for many East-coasters, Cape Cod is often avoided by some because of the high price of lodging and activities in the area. But, don’t write this destination off just yet. There’s plenty to do in the area without breaking the bank, and if the food doesn’t already sell you, the views will.
It’s like getting the best of everything – beaches, history and relaxation – all in one go. So this is a great option if you want to keep your itinerary a little thinner on the constant moving.
Whatever direction you decide to take for your Atlantic Coast holiday, you’ll always find that you have a long list of choices. There is something for everyone, so you won’t have to worry about disappointed faces in your travel party. The great part about each option is that you can pick and choose what fits your itinerary and timeframe best without sacrificing any of the fun.
It’ll be an area that you’ll keep coming back to explore year after year.
