Hip Seattle Hotels :
The Palladian, A Kimpton Hotel
It isn’t hard to find hip Seattle hotels, but unique, funky, and hip? Check out the Palladian!
When we visit Seattle, which is often, we like to stay in one of several hip Seattle hotels. Recently, we were able to stay at the Palladian, which had just opened in February of 2015.
The hotel, located at 2000 Second Ave, is literally just steps away from Seattle’s Pike Place Market and other downtown attractions. The best way to describe the ambiance of the Palladian? Edgy and urban comes to mind.
In addition to the 97 newly remodeled rooms, the hotel offers two new dining options. The Shaker + Spear, a fresh seafood restaurant, and the Pennyroyal, an old-world style bar that is “immersed in rock ‘n’ roll Seattle culture”.
I just love it when an old hotel, in this case the Calhoun Hotel which was built in 1910 is so thoroughly revamped and “funkified”! Is that really a word? I’m not sure, but let’s run with it!It isn't hard to find hip Seattle hotels, but unique, funky, and hip? Check out the #Palladian! Click To Tweet
You’ll quickly discover, as we did, that the rooms area a fascinating mix of old world details and contemporary styling. We stayed in a King deluxe. A large beautiful room with fitted with a plush pillow-top mattress and fine Italian linens.
And, though we typically prefer to have the room to ourselves, we felt pretty good sharing our stay with David Bowie.
Many of the rooms, though not ours, unfortunately , offer great views of he city and beyond. Through in rustic reclaimed wood and vintage claw foot tubs, (again not in every room, so ask) you will see why we think you’ll find your stay here to be fabulous.
One of the reasons I come back to Kimpton Hotels over and over again, is for the little things. Like the evening wine hour. A chance to enjoy a glass or two of a local pinot while getting acquainted with other hotel guests.
Or, for those that like to be active, and love two wheeled modes of transportation, you can find yourself wheeling along on one of their loaner PUBLIC bikes. Pretty cool, I think.
Furry Friends Welcome
As we sometimes visit Seattle with our Goldendoodle, it’s nice to know that we have a place to stay that loves our dog almost as much as we do. How many places do you know that will greet your dog by name?
