Tuscany Suites and Casino – Review
Unlike what most people expect in a hotel in Las Vegas, The Tuscany Suites and Casino isn’t a huge skyscraper-ish type of hotel. In fact, it is no more than three stories tall, but it covers quite a bit of property, 27 acres, as there are many separate buildings that might be described as a “motel-like” structure.
We found, after we checked in, that the hotel is called “Suites” for a reason. All of the rooms, every one of them, is a suite. There are three different types the Executive Double, the Executive King, which are both 650 square feet, and Luxury 2 Bedroom Suites.Off the Las Vegas Strip, our Tuscany Suites and Casino review. We stayed in one of the Executive King Suites. We were really impressed with the size! 650 square feet is pretty massive. So, what does a suite at the Tuscany offer other than size? The suite includes a living room with a sofa and chair, as well as a small dining area with a small table and two chairs, and a wet bar with a coffee maker, refrigerator, and microwave (on request). The bedroom area includes one really comfy King bed with a pillow top mattress. The bathroom was bigger than some rooms we have stayed in, and featured an extra long vanity.
Tuscany Suites and Casino Amenities
As you can tell from its name, the Tuscany provides a casino for those that like to gamble. We are not gamblers, so spent little time there. But, in our opinion, it seemed…., well, a little sad.
In addition to the casino, the Tuscany Suites and Casino offers four places on on-site where you can get food. There are the:
Caffee Bottega, which is pretty much an espresso stand with a few tables. When we went for our morning mocha we found pastries and Stumptown Coffee Roasters coffee. You can also get wine and craft beers in the evening, plus there’s a menu of paninis, flatbreads, and salads.
Marilyn’s Café, a typical kind of 24 hour café that you might find along any number of American highways or small towns. The food was perfectly acceptable, and all of the wait staff that we encountered were very pleasant.
The Cantina, the name is pretty much a dead-give-away, a Mexican style restaurant. We can’t really say anything about it as we didn’t go in.
Tuscany Gardens Italian Restaurant is the hotels “flagship” dining spot. The Italian fare features steak, seafood, veal, and pasta. A short scan of the menu indicates some delicious looking items to choose from.
Amenities for the Active
A Tuscany Suites and Casino Review wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t at least mention that there are two pools on the property. There’s a lap pool, which was under renovation when we were there, and a much larger, and more attractive, lagoon-style pool. There is also a surprisingly well equipped, and maintained, Fitness Center with cardiovascular equipment, what appears to be a new Smith machine, free weights, dumbbells, and other gym goodies!
We started our article off my mentioning that the Tuscany Suites and Casino is not on the strip, but on Flamingo Rd. When you look at the map you’ll see that it appears to be only a block away from the Strip, and such big name casinos as the Bellagio, Ballys, Paris, and Planet Hollywood. The truth is that just over a mile away from the Tuscany Casino, is the Bellagio. This is not a big deal for us, but it is something that you need to be aware of.
We enjoyed our stay at Tuscany Suites and Casino, and would recommend it to others, with one caveat. The distance might be an issue for some that don’t like to, or can’t, walk. If that is the case just be aware that you will need to call a cab. Or, our preference, Uber or Lyft.
