25L Waterproof Bag by Vitchelo
As with camera bags, I am always looking for the perfect day pack to where as we are exploring every new location. Each seems to have it’s strengths and weaknesses. And, this 25L waterproof backpack from Vitchelo is no exception.
This bag is well constructed, and it appears as if it will last many trips. The main reason I was intrigued by it was the claim to be waterproof, and the “rubberized” exterior sure goes a long way towards making that a reality.
With an eye toward ruggedness, this backpack drybag has reinforced seams and non-rip material designed to keep your gear safe during your activities. The bottom is made with a scrim-reinforced vinyl bottom that ensures maximum water resistance.
And, check out those zippers! These things are really tight and appear to be sealed very well. Vitchelo claims the bag will float, it is that airtight.
As I am 6′ 8″ tall fit is always a big deal for me. The Vitchelo comes with adjustable and padded shoulder straps that really make this comfortable to wear. But, in all honesty, I have yet to wear it all day as I would do on one of our trips.
In addition to the padded shoulder straps, you’ll find chest and waist straps that make the bag feel even more secure as you are traipsing all over. This feature is something that I really value as I want to make sure the pack is snug against by back.
There are two mesh pockets on either side with cinch drawstrings perfect for carrying water bottles. An absolute necessity during warm weather treks.
The 25L Waterproof Bag by Vitchelo really has few weaknesses in my opinion. One, found upon closer inspection, is that there are not enough pockets built in to the structure. Now, depending on your needs this may or may not be a big deal. I carry a fair amount of photo gear and the lack of pockets is a pretty big deal for me. I need to be able to tuck away a myriad of little things.
One other thing that we discovered in our testing, was that it wasn’t completely waterproof. It floats on top of the water as the seams are well sealed, but if the bag is dragged under the surface of the water, as we did in our test, the contents get wet. Where the two zippers meet on the main compartment, there is a gap and water is allowed inside.
These few shortcomings would only deter the shopper who is looking to take this places where the likelihood of having the bag underwater is high. For those of us wanting a bag that will keep our stuff drive in a driving rainstorm, this bag works wonderfully well! You can find more by watching our video.
