Best Cabins in Ellijay Georgia – A Perfect Family Vacation Destination
Instead I have always opted to rent a cabin. I don’t know why, but the idea of a cabin always resonates with us, and believe the benefits outweigh the ones provided by a hotel. In the beginning my kids would complain that they wanted the features a hotel offered, but that changed when with experience in the wilderness.
In the summer of 2012 I took my family, including my extended family to stay in a cabin in Ellijay, Georgia. This was the first time that we had all vacationed together and stayed under one roof. Sure enough everyone had a blast, and unfortunately for me I could not sleep even a single minute due to the ruckus that surrounded our humble abode. Yet the experience of living together on a vacation was one that I will always cherish, as it brought us all closer, and made us feel like a clan that used to exist in days gone by.
There are a myriad of benefits that come along while staying a lodge. For us it was the Ellijay River, which ran close buy and while the kids had a blast playing near the water, the grownups headed out to fish, and had a gay old time. I would highly recommend fishing for Rainbow trout if you do plan on visiting the region. There are also a number of other fishes like Brown Trout, Carp, and Bull trout to name a few.
The biggest advantage that a cabin has is that there is a real sense of a family, and you have one shared kitchen and dining room, which means you can all huddle around and listen to grandpa tell his stories of when he was young, or just talk about what you did during the day over a glass of Ice tea, and a nice freshly baked Trout. There is also yet another advantage and that is you can all pool your resources together to lower down the cost of the cabins rent. This is quite possibly the biggest advantage that you have when compared with a hotel room the shared premises mean that you and your family can easily divide the cost within yourselves, and hence you have a bigger budget to spend on other activities such a canoeing, and rafting just to name a few.
The biggest selling point for me however was the fact that a cabin just felt like home, we had one shared kitchen where we would sit down and eat a hearty meal 3 times in a day, and laugh and joke around with the other members of the family. There was also cable and wireless internet so we could keep updated on the latest news and happenings in the world. It also meant that the kids had something to do as well when they returned home tired from the day’s activities. There was something for each and every one of us, another great thing that you can do is get to know the families that are staying in the cabins adjacent to you. This way you not only get to meet new people, but you also tend to have a blast in the shared activities that follow.
Renting a cabin can be a great and fulfilling experience if done properly. I would suggest that you pick a cabin when you are headed to the wilderness. Make sure that you pick the one that is located close to a river or a stream to maximize the scenic beauty. Another alternative is to pick one which offers you a majestic view of the Mountains. Either way a cabin is a great choice when you a travelling to Ellijay Georgia as it offers you the chance to get one with nature, and its hiking and fishing spots are a joy to behold. Fort mountain state park is one place where you can go hiking, and enjoy the surroundings and breathe in the fresh air.
Make sure to plan in advance whenever you are travelling, and make every conceivable arrangement so at no point you are caught by surprise. Plan your trip according to your schedule, and make sure nothing is amiss.
