Easy Travelin’ Havit M20 Bluetooth Speaker with Microphone
When I travel I want to have access to my tunes too. This easy travelin’ bluetooth speaker allows me to do just that.
There are of course a lot of bluetooth speakers out there. And, I’ve listened to a number of them. Some good. Some, not so good.
There are a couple of things that impress me about this Havit M20 bluetooth speaker from Havit, though. Not the least of which is the price. At $19.99, I am really, really surprised at the quality of the build.
The casing, which has rubber feet on the bottom, is an attractive blue. The manufacturer calls it cobalt blue. Not sure if I would, but it looks nice, nonetheless. The thing that is really impressive at this price point is that the casing is aluminum not simply plastic. And it really has these nice beveled edges that add to the attractiveness.
But, looks only go so far, right?
If you’re a traveler, you something that sounds good and is easy to pack, too. So, let’s address that.
The speaker weighs in at 310g, or roughly 11oz.. This makes it light enough to carry along in carry on baggage. And, the dimensions are suitable for squeezing in to a nook or cranny. It’s only 8.7inches long x 2.2 inches tall x 1.1 inches thick. That’s pretty slim by just about anyone’s standards, I think you’d agree.
And, as for easy of use, there is only one button, and it controls everything from turning the unit on, to connecting to Bluetooth, which, by the way, is V4.0, to skipping tunes, to answering calls (did I mentioned that you can take calls as well as listen to music?)
Now, I realize that all of this is well and good, but if the sound quality isn’t suitable, what good is it? Right? Before I go any further, just let me say, that sound quality is pretty subjective. Some of us have a pretty critical ear, some don’t. I will say this, when I was younger I used to sell audio equipment so I’ve heard a lot.
If you are expecting to have concert quality sound production that fills a huge room, you are probably going to be disappointed. But, if you are realistic and it’s sitting on your desk or nightstand in an average sized hotel or BnB room, you are going to be pleased. I know that I am.
In addition to the aforementioned stats, the Havit M20 Bluetooth speaker has:
2 5W 40mm speakers
Micro USB charging port, and
a 2000mAh battery that is supposed to give up to 20 hours of play time. (I haven’t tested that claim.)
Let me finish by saying, that I think you might use the word “elegant” to describe this little guy.
I can only say that I am glad that I took the leap and tried it out.
